For a very long time, strips of wool have been used as telltales to trim the sails properly. Mer Agitée wanted to develop a system which would provide information on the sail trim, day and night and under any weather conditions so as to provide a real time analysis of the performance and send the information to the autopilot.

That is how the e-telltale was created, an electronic telltale making it possible to know whether the flow is streaming aft or breaking on the sail. The information can be read on the on-board electronics and/or on the on-board computer thanks to a specific software but also on an Android with the TrimControl app (see the FAQs). Because it can be used on offshore racing boats or on super yachts, TrimControlTM can offer several customized interfaces and products for sailing-boats as well as for the industry, in particular the wind-powered sector whether at sea or on land.
